In Bengaluru, the IN Data Engineering & Analytics team is seeking a Data Engineer to support pan‑India business initiatives. The role centers on designing, building and maintaining ETL pipelines that move large volumes of data into Amazon’s data warehouses and lakes. Daily tasks include writing SQL queries, developing data models, creating scripts in languages such as Python, Java, Scala or NodeJS, and using AWS services like Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda and IAM to orchestrate workflows. The engineer will also work with big‑data frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive and Spark, and with non‑relational stores including object, document, key‑value, graph and column‑family databases. End‑to‑end project ownership—from requirement gathering through testing and deployment—is expected, and the position suits candidates with three or more years of data engineering or related experience, strong SQL foundations, hands‑on ETL and warehousing background, proficiency in at least one modern programming language, and familiarity with the AWS and big‑data stack listed above. Amazon IN Platform Development team is looking to hire a rock star Data/BI Engineer to build for pan Amazon India businesses. Amazon India is at the core of hustle @ Amazon WW today and the team is charted - 3+ years of data engineering experience - Experience with SQL - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS - Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g., software engineer, business intelligence engineer, data scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets - Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions - Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR - Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently - Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases) Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
