RECO is a specialist provider of rental equipment and services for construction sites, including temporary housing, energy solutions, scaffolding, and site security. This internship focuses on the digital transformation of construction site management. As an intern, you will research and develop a scalable digital platform or concept that integrates IoT, AI, and SaaS solutions to monitor and optimize construction site operations. The role moves beyond theoretical research; you are expected to take a hands-on approach to translate complex site challenges into actionable digital solutions. A key objective is the creation of a functional prototype or proof-of-concept that demonstrates how the company can evolve its service offerings through technology. This position is well-suited for an HBO student in fields such as Software Development, Engineering, ICT, or Data Science who possesses a strong analytical mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit. You will work closely with experienced professionals to bridge the gap between traditional construction logistics and modern digital infrastructure, requiring both technical software development skills and the ability to conceptualize future-proof business solutions.
Job Description RECO is actief in de verhuur en dienstverlening rondom de bouwplaats, onder andere op het gebied van tijdelijke huisvesting, energie, verlichting, steigerbouw, verticaal transport en bouwplaatsbeveiliging. De bouwplaats wordt steeds digitaler. Data, IoT, AI, SaaS-oplossingen, sensoren en realtime monitoring bieden mogelijkheden om niet alleen afzonderlijke producten digitaal te ondersteunen, maar de bouwplaats als geheel slimmer, veiliger en efficiënter te maken. Wat ga je doen? Hoe kan RECO een schaalbaar digitaal platform/concept ontwikkelen waarmee bouwplaatsen integraal digitaal kunnen worden gemonitord, aangestuurd en geoptimaliseerd, waarbij SaaS, AI, IoT en bestaande RECO-diensten samenkomen? Daarbij staat niet één afzonderlijk product centraal, maar de vraag: Hoe ziet de bouwplaats van de toekomst eruit en welke digitale rol kan RECO daarin vervullen? Het doel is om een conceptueel uitgewerkt en onderbouwd digitaliseringsconcept op te leveren dat RECO kan gebruiken als basis voor verdere ontwikkeling en eventuele realisatie. De opdracht moet nadrukkelijk voorkomen dat er alleen een theoretisch adviesrapport ontstaat. Je wordt uitgedaagd om hands-on met technologie te werken en waar mogelijk een werkend prototype of proof-of-concept te ontwikkelen.
