The Crypto Perpetuals team is responsible for developing advanced trading experiences, specifically targeting users who require fast and intuitive access to crypto derivatives. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will be tasked with building and maintaining performant mobile interfaces that handle real-time market data, complex order entry, and position management. Your day-to-day work involves designing scalable iOS architecture, ensuring high reliability for trading workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineering. This role requires a strong technical background in Swift and modern iOS frameworks, with a focus on data-intensive applications. It is well-suited for an experienced engineer who excels at translating complex financial concepts into intuitive mobile tools. You will also be expected to lead technical planning, contribute to system design reviews, and provide mentorship to other engineers on the team to maintain high standards of execution and stability within the platform.

The Crypto Perpetuals team is building Robinhood’s advanced trading experience for customers who want fast, intuitive access to crypto derivatives markets. Our team powers the mobile workflows that help traders monitor price action, understand market depth, manage risk, and place trades with confidence in rapidly moving markets. We work at the intersection of high-performance UI, real-time market data, and complex trading systems. From responsive charting and order entry to position management and risk-aware product experiences, our work directly shapes how active traders engage with Robinhood’s crypto platform. As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Crypto Perpetuals team, you’ll design and build performant mobile experiences that support real-time data, sophisticated trading flows, and highly reliable execution. You’ll partner closely with product, design, and backend engineering to deliver intuitive tools for serious traders, while helping raise the technical bar across the team through strong architecture, execution, and mentorship. This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA OR New York, NY OR Toronto, ON office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. What you'll do 6+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications Design and implement scalable iOS application architecture that supports advanced crypto trading experiences used by Robinhood's most active investors Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive pro-grade trading tools on mobile Improve application performance, real-time data handling, observability, and release stability across core crypto trading workflows Lead technical planning and provide guidance during system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution efforts for high-stakes trading features Mentor iOS engineers through code reviews, technical feedback, and structured development support while contributing to engineering standards and documentation What you bring Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS development frameworks Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies — particularly for data-intensive or real-time use cases Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners to deliver customer-focused technical solutions Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform improvements Experience working on financial platforms, trading systems, or real-time market data products (preferred) Clear communication skills and ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences This position is restricted to US citizens or lawful permanent residents What we offer Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching Best in class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
