The Sub‑Same‑Day (SSD) team in Gurugram builds the software that powers Amazon’s fastest delivery promises across India and other emerging markets. As a Software Development Engineer II you will design, implement and maintain large‑scale, multi‑tiered, distributed applications and services that enable sub‑same‑day deliveries. Daily tasks include writing production‑grade code in languages such as C#, C++, Java or Perl, applying object‑oriented design principles, creating and reviewing design patterns for reliability and scaling, managing source control, build pipelines and automated tests, and collaborating with peers on code reviews and system architecture. The role suits engineers with at least three years of professional software development experience, a solid foundation in object‑oriented design, and hands‑on expertise in building high‑throughput, fault‑tolerant services. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field is required.
