The Lead Investor Relations role is a senior individual‑contributor position responsible for rebuilding and owning the firm’s investor‑relations processes. Day‑to‑day work includes leading the quarterly earnings cycle—crafting messaging, scripts, Q&A, and conference‑call preparation—while coordinating with finance, legal and executive leadership. The incumbent will gather technical and commercial insights from product, sales and R&D teams to shape investor communications, maintain relationships with sell‑side analysts, monitor consensus forecasts, and brief the CEO and CFO for meetings, roadshows and Investor Day events. The role also involves analyzing peer earnings, SEC filings, and maintaining benchmarking data to inform board discussions, as well as drafting earnings decks, shareholder letters and IR website content in compliance with disclosure rules. Ideal candidates have prior experience evaluating software businesses from a buy‑side or sell‑side perspective, strong financial modeling and valuation skills, and the ability to translate complex technical products into clear investment narratives.

Prepare the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CFO, and other executives for investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows; lead investor calls independently when executives aren't available, explaining how GitLab's business works and answering investor questions. Analyze peer and competitor earnings, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, and investor days; maintain benchmarking analyses and deliver quantitative and qualitative insights for executive and board discussions. Financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills, with the ability to identify the business drivers that shape investor expectations. Experience producing or analyzing earnings materials and investor presentations, and explaining technical software products, evolving business models, and financial performance clearly in writing and conversation. You can work directly with senior executives and offer an informed point of view. Working knowledge of SEC reporting, Regulation FD, and public company disclosure practices. Proficiency with presentation and spreadsheet tools, experience with IR and market data platforms, and experience using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve workflows or a willingness to develop that capability.
